Oakland Winter Blitz
With some outstanding volunteers from Pitt's Free the Planet, Oakland residents (many of them Pitt students themselves) were surprised in early December to receive bags full of green goodies. Many volunteers also acted as directors in the making of this short video of the blitz:

2011: A Success!

This year, there's a new reason to call Pittsburgh the City of Champions. Every action our neighbors made around the city added up to make a huge difference: over 2.3 million pounds of heat-trapping gases will be saved each year because of the actions you took in 2011!

Congratulations to our Youth Community Partners at the Kingsley Association, Propel Andrew Street High School, and Pittsburgh Science and Technology Academy!
They learned about and assessed environmental concerns in their schools and neighborhoods. After studying how food, waste, and water influenced their impact on climate change, they worked to find healthier and more environmentally friendly solutions and alternatives.
